Porridge was in a bit of a foul mood. Winter had arrived, and food was scarce. While normally he’d be looking to expand his clan, right now, his focus was on food. A heavy snow was falling from the sky; already, it was up to his elbows and knees. His breath curled out in tendrils of mist before he took to the air, beating his wings to gain speed and altitude. He was going to check the mountains, figuring he had a better chance up there. Wheeling to the right, he shot ahead, heading into the blinding snow. Below him, humanoid settlements could be seen, the fires of their hearths glowing and sending up pinpricks of light in the otherwise white landscape. He briefly considered attacking one of these villages and devouring its inhabitants, but figured it wasn’t worth the trouble right now. Instead, he was making his way towards the ridges and spires ahead of him. One in particular was interesting looking, almost as if it had been crafted, but was apparently the work of centuries of wind

The dappled light filtering through the leaves was like diamonds splashing over the cool green landscape. The woods were thick here, being particularly deep and unexplored. It was a region Forest Moose had not yet found herself before. But her domains needed exploring, and she had been following the food deeper and deeper into this region on her hunts. The land was sloping upwards, and her sharp ears detected the sound of the sea. The rocks under her feet indicated she was approaching what was most likely a coastal cliff, where the forest would terminate. Her nostrils flared, detecting food up ahead. Starting to move a bit more slowly, the leaves crunched under her feet as she narrowed her eyes, looking for her quarry. Up ahead, through the trees, she could see a stag, its haunches tensed as it had clearly detected her, or at least, the noise she’d made. Either way, she wasn’t going to let this one get away.
